Stop the growth in electricity consumption in 2009
Public sector electricity consumption is growing by 1% per year. The Trust’s vision is that this trend should be halted by 2009 at the latest.
The Trust plans to achieve this by promoting energy efficient purchasing, electricity savings projects and behavioural campaigns. The sum total of these initiatives will help public sector institutions save millions of Danish kroner on their electricity bills.
Curve Breaker Agreements will make it easier to implement electricity savings, irrespective of whether these are achieved through voluntary agreements or whether, for example, they are made in order to comply with the terms of the 2007 agreement between the then Danish Ministry of Transport and Energy and Local Government Denmark (KL). But there is also a definite opportunity for organisations to benefit from greener and more socially responsible profiles.
The Trust also offers agreements to large office-based companies in the private sector.
