Halogen bulbs are C-E rated

Halogen bulbs use 2-4 times more power than A-rated energy saving bulbs.

Best for spot and concentrated lighting
Use halogen lighting as spot and concentrated lighting, for example in kitchens and bathrooms, and in places where colour rendering is important.

Halogen bulbs should not normally be used to illuminate the average room because this generally requires many halogen bulbs and contributes to high electricity consumption.

Normal or low voltage
Halogen bulbs can be 230V or low voltage (usually 12V), which requires a transformer. You can avoid using standby power by switching off the plug to the transformer.

Be careful
Halogen bulbs get very hot so it is important to fit them at least 50 cm away from combustible materials.
