Electricity consumption and key indicators for ventilation systems

Find lists showing electricity consumption of ventilation systems in different public sector institutions.

Results from ventilation check-ups

  • Data from ventilation firms’ check-up reports.
  • Electricity consumption data from electricity meter systems fitted to ventilation systems.
  • Key indicator calculations for comparison.

Select a location type from the list below to see key indicators covering all the systems for the types in question. Then click on an individual system to view all the details.

Calculation example
Example of a school with a ventilated area of 1,500 m2 for 200 students and teachers with a ventilation system that provides a constant air volume (CAV system):

With ventilation volumes and an efficiency that conforms exactly to the BR08 requirements, the efficiency key indicator will be 2.24 W/m2.

If the system runs continually for 10 hours every day, 5 days a week, 45 weeks a year, the electricity consumption key indicator will be 5 kWh/m2/year, which is equivalent to EUR 0.94-1.2 per m2 per year.
