Replace expensive electric heating

Electricity is the most environmentally unfriendly form of heating. That is why you should consider alternative forms of heating if your workplace is completely or even partially heated in this way. Electricity accounts for only 2% of the heat consumption in the public sector (3% in the commercial and industrial sectors).

Electricity pollutes most
Electricity is significantly more expensive than district heating or natural gas. This is partly because of higher energy  prices, and partly due to higher taxes. One of the reasons for the high taxes is that electricity pollutes more than other forms of energy.

You should therefore consider alternative forms of heating.

District heating
District heating emits about 75% less CO2 than heating with electricity and is therefore an obvious choice as an alternative heating form.

You can find a list of district heating companies in Denmark at fjernvarme.dk (only in Danish).

Natural gas
Contact the gas supply companies to find out about connection prices:

Some gas supply companies have agreements with plumbing and heating engineers on prices and approved gas boilers, and some of them offer different types of advice.

Oil-fired boilers
For smaller boilers, the Danish Technological Institute has produced a list of efficient oil-fired boilers on the market. These are energy labelled and have the best  price performance ratios. The boilers listed are energy labelled A-F, with A denoting the most energy efficient boilers. Check the product list and get good advice on oil-fired boilers.

View the list from the Danish Technological Institute (only in Danish)

Large boilers must conform to the energy requirements laid down in the Danish Building Regulations.
