Choose a recommended AutoPowerOff plug bank for computers

AutoPowerOff for computers

An AutoPowerOff plug bank automatically switches off peripherals such as the monitor, printer, modem, loudspeakers, scanners, etc., the moment a computer is switched off.

How does an AutoPowerOff plug bank work?
When the computer is switched off, the USB port is closed down. This sends a signal to the AutoPowerOff plug bank to switch off the power to the plugs. A USB AutoPowerOff can be used for computers. The USB cable is connected to the computer, and when the computer is switched off the AutoPowerOff switches off automatically.

Connecting an inkjet printer
Remember to switch off an inkjet printer using the on/off button before turning off the computer. This prevents damage to the print head.

Connecting a laser printer
Read the operating instructions if you want to connect a laser printer. Some printers do not tolerate being switched off at the mains socket before they have cooled down. Therefore use the printer's on/off switch.

Data (EDP) plug
A data plug socket is designed to protect computer equipment from power interruptions. This type of socket is therefore used for computers which must remain on. EDP plugs have angled pins which prevents other equipment being plugged in by mistake. An IT department's security policy is responsible for deciding which equipment is plugged into which socket. Speak to the IT department if you have any doubts.
