Energy Saving Label for digital decoders
Digital decoders need to fulfil certain requirements to use the Energy Saving Label.
Decoders with the Energy Saving Label are listed here (only in Danish). Maximum consumption figures recommended by the Trust are as follows:
Basic digital decoders:
- On: 5 watts*
- Standby: 1 watt (2 watts if the decoder has a display)
Digital decoders with card reader (without active standby):
- On: 10 watts*
- Standby: 0.5 watt (1 watt if the decoder has a display)
Advanced digital decoders with multiple functions:
- Active standby:
Decoder for aerial - 5 watts*
Decoder for cable - 6 watts*
Decoder for satellite - 7 watts*
- Passive standby:
3 watts
* Where the decoder has extra functions, e.g. tuner or built-in hard drive, the threshold for maximum power consumption in on mode is higher.
