Sixth-form colleges use the Trust’s ideas catalogue for teaching
The Trust has developed an ideas catalogue for helping sixth-form colleges in Denmark to reduce their electricity consumption.
Based on students’ everyday lives
The ideas catalogue is designed to inspire you and your colleagues to include the sixth-form college campaign in your teaching. The assignments in the catalogue are based on students’ everyday lives and revolve around energy savings in the home and at school.
Environmental and financial benefits of saving power
The material focuses on the environmental and financial advantages of saving power and provides stimulating topics for discussion of, for example, how difficult or easy it is for individuals to contribute to lower energy consumption.
For physics, biology and maths lessons
The tasks are suitable for use across different subject areas and apply specifically to teaching in physics, biology and mathematics. The material offers possibilities for organising a complete course in which the treatment, by students, of questions about resources and electricity savings are combined with mathematical projects.
Just one element of the sixth-form college campaign
The ideas catalogue was developed as one element of the Trust’s sixth-form college campaign, launched in spring 2008. The campaign theme was ‘Drop the lame excuses and save power’.
Kolding sixth-form college won a nationwide competition by saving EUR 5,300 worth of electricity in just 13 weeks.
