Purpose of HOUSE+ project competition
The purpose of the project competition was to encourage the building industry to work in a more integrated and multidisciplinary way, thereby creating high quality energy neutral buildings. TEAM+ was the winning entry in the project competition, which was launched in February 2009 by the Architects' Association of Denmark and the Danish Society of Engineers in association with HOUSE+, A Enggaard A/S and the City of Aalborg.

The competition closed on 11 June 2009, with the final adjudication on 28 September 2009. The competition received financial assistance from Realdania, the Danish Electricity Trust and the Danish Energy Agency.

Idea behind winning project
The idea behind the winning project was to design homes that are good-quality, flexible, light and airy. By facing a particular way, the surface of the building gets the maximum possible sun while simultaneously acting as a solar shield.
