Wants to make Danish homes green
Henrik Teglgaard Lund, the chief tester of the Danish Consumer Council’s independent consumer magazine 'Tænk' (Think), has been appointed as the new Head of Secretariat of the Danish Energy Saving Trust. From 1 July he will lead the Trust's efforts to promote energy savings in Denmark.
One of the areas the new Head of Secretariat will prioritise is to help Danes with home energy renovation.
"The technical and financial aspects need to be considered when someone wants to retro insulate their home or fit an eco-friendly heating system. The Energy Saving Trust should create the tools that make it easy for Danes to choose solutions that are good for both the climate and their wallets," says Henrik Teglgaard Lund.
Needs to be both high quality and green
Henrik Teglgaard Lund is certain that consumers are not prepared to accept a lower quality of life when they save energy. He also wants to have quality on a daily basis.
"I am a real fan of green solutions that also improve quality. My new front door with energy glass not only saves energy but also provides lots of light in the passageway. When I cycle to catch the train in the morning I know that’s good for the climate, and I also get plenty of fresh air and exercise," says Henrik Teglgaard Lund.
In-depth knowledge and wide-ranging experience
Since 2002, the 48-year-old engineering graduate has been in charge of the lab testing of products to help consumers choose high quality green products. Before that, Henrik Teglgaard Lund’s target group was the business world when he worked on improving energy efficiency in industrial companies for COWI, and as an energy consultant with the Confederation of Danish Industry.
"It’s exactly this wide-ranging experience with energy, the consumer area, and management which is important for the Trust," says Chairman of the Board Erik Jacobsen.
"Henrik Teglgaard Lund is familiar with all the sectors with which the Trust is involved, and he also knows how to implement campaigns. We placed the emphasis on recruiting a Head of Secretariat who can lead a Trust working on a wide range of issues, and who has a solid working knowledge of energy," says Erik Jacobsen.
