Personal recommendations
From 1 March, the Trust’s all new Home Energy Check net platform makes it easier to improve the energy efficiency of your home. This sophisticated tool provides targeted recommendations based on your own home explains Christian Lüders, Head of Communications at the Trust.
“The calculations are based on information in the Danish public registers and data on actual heat consumption, which you key in yourself. As a user, this gives you a personalised estimate of how much you can save,” say Christian Lüders.
If you don’t know how much heat you actually use, you have the option to choose high, medium or low consumption for a home similar to yours.

Impartial and user-friendly
Home Energy Check features the first energy calculator that offers independent advice on the total amount of energy used in your home. What’s more it’s really easy to use.
“You can get an energy performance evaluation of your home and a list of recommendations within a couple of minutes,” says Christian Lüders, who has been working on the development of the concept since last summer.
Home Energy Check both recommends how you can minimize your bills without having to invest anything, simply by changing your habits, and also how you can improve the energy efficiency of your home – for example, by fitting new windows, or increasing the amount of insulation.
Find the right tradesmen
When you click on the home improvements section, Home Energy Check also points you in the direction of energy-qualified tradesmen who can carry out the work. Home Energy Check is designed to dovetail with Find a Tradesman (Håndværkerlisten), another all new service from the Trust.
“Our main aim is to make it easy for Danes to get started. Home Energy Check provides targeted recommendations based on your own home. Find a Tradesman makes it easy to find a suitable person or company to carry out the work,” says Christian Lüders.

Danish kroner, kWh and CO2
All the savings are displayed on the relevant pages in intervals by Danish kroner, kWh and CO2. The more you feed the Home Energy Check program with data on your home, the narrower the intervals become. In this way, every user is provided with a recommendation – with the ambitious being able to view their potential savings more precisely.
Home Energy Check is divided into two main areas: Heating and Appliances. If you live in a house you will initially find yourself in the heating area with suggestions that can help you to reduce your heating bills. If you live in a flat you will be channelled into the Appliances section that provides recommendations on lower electricity costs.
Nonetheless, irrespective of where you live, you can access both the Heating and the Appliances sections. This means that everyone benefits from Home Energy Check.
