Super energy efficient notebook awarded Energy Saving Label
Zepto recently launched its take on the energy efficient notebook front. Using the latest generation processor Zepto can now meet the Trust’s requirements for low power consumption. As a result, Zepto’s new notebook qualifies for the Trust’s Energy Saving Label.
The Energy Saving Label helps consumers to purchase the most energy efficient products and save power, with benefits for both consumers and the environment.
Power consumptions of only 4.1 watt
‘This shows how much energy can be saved when producers like Zepto make an effort to manufacture computers with ultra low power consumption. The Notus’s 4.1 watt power rating is very low bearing in mind that the Trust’s threshold for use of the Energy Saving Label is 14 watt,’ says Anders Hjorth Jensen, Project Manager at the Trust.
The Trust in new partnership with Zepto
The Trust recently signed a partnership agreement with Zepto. In future, the power consumption of all Zepto IT equipment will displayed on the Trust’s product overview. This means that it will be possible for individual consumers to find information about the power consumption of products made by yet another IT producer.
Increased demand for the Energy Saving Label results in energy efficient equipment
More and more IT producers are focusing on making their new products energy efficient because of the increasing demand for IT products bearing the Energy Saving Label.
In addition to the recent partnership agreement with Zepto, the Trust already has negotiated similar agreements with Acer, Apple, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Philips and Samsung.
Huge amounts of power can be saved
Choosing an energy efficient computer can save huge amounts of power. This is why it’s important to know how much power a computer uses – when switched on, and in the sleep and standby modes.
Computer power savings calculator
The Trust’s Savings calculator helps consumers to calculate savings over a computer’s lifetime in both kWh and Danish kroner (NB. All search tabs are currently only in Danish).
