Board of Directors appointed

The Danish Minister for Climate and Energy, Lykke Friis, has appointed the members of the Board of the Danish Energy Saving Trust.

Board with expertise in energy savings and campaigns
The Danish Minister for Climate and Energy has today appointed the new Board of the Danish Energy Saving Trust. Including the Chairman, Erik Jacobsen, the Board now comprises:

  • Ulla Röttger, managing director of Amagerforbrænding
  • Carsten Rode, DTU professor and section manager of Building Physics and Services, Department of Civil Engineering, Technical University of Denmark
  • Anders Nørskov, director of CEDI
  • Gøsta Knudsen, chief city architect, City of Aarhus
  • Eva Steensig, sociologist and founder of Lighthouse Cph A/S
  • Christina Hvid, former managing director of Danske Slagterier (Danish Bacon & Meat Council)

"I am extremely pleased to be able to present a strong Board of the Danish Energy Saving Trust. The new Trust will play a central role in the future energy savings efforts by promoting savings in commerce and industry, and the private and public sectors. This why particular emphasis has been placed on a Board with expertise in energy savings and campaigns, and an understanding of the market which an effort such as this requires. I am convinced that together the Trust’s Board and Secretariat are well prepared to accomplish this task," says Minister Lykke Friis.

Combining innovative thinking and experience
One of the Board’s most important jobs in the coming months will be to formulate the overall framework for the Danish Energy Saving Trust.

Erik Jacobsen, Chairman of the Board says: "The Board has a major and important task ahead. We must ensure that the Trust becomes a central player in the energy savings area, and that it contributes to an effective energy savings effort. We will achieve this both by thinking innovatively, but also by drawing on the accumulated experiences and goodwill as a result of the work of the Danish Electricity Saving Trust. This is an exciting challenge with which I and the Board look forward to getting to grips."
