Is your circulator pump obsolete?
Check the power consumption and flow settings on your circulator pump and find out whether it needs replacing.
Check the power consumption
If the minimum figure is 50 watts or more, the pump is a power guzzler. If this is the case then it would pay to have it replaced, irrespective of its age.
Check the flow settings
Older pumps can be set to run from 1 to 3. If your pump has a flow setting of up to 3, then it’s ready to be replaced. If there is only a handle for adjusting the flow then it’s older still, which gives you an even better reason to replace it.
It’s always worth replacing older pumps and less energy efficient pumps with A-rated pumps.
