The Danish Energy Saving Trust
The Danish Energy Saving Trust is an independent, public sector authority with its own Board and a secretariat which is linked to the Danish Energy Agency in organisational terms. The Trust, which was established on 1 March 2010 under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy, will expand and develop the previous activities and initiatives undertaken by the Danish Energy Saving Trust.
The Danish Energy Saving Trust covers all forms of energy, in all sectors, other than transport (i.e. consumers, the public sector, and the commercial and industrial sectors). The Trust is financed by a special energy savings charge of DKK 0.006/kWh payable by households and the public sector. Total annual proceeds amount to approximately DKK 90 million.
